A Collaborative & Professional Work Environment
Willows Preparatory School® is an authorized International Baccalaureate® World School, providing the Middle Years Programme (grades 6-10). In the fall of 2020, we will go through the authorization process for the IB Diploma Programme (grades 11-12). IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that WPS believes is important for our students. WPS considers it our job to foster students to become global-minded citizens with a multicultural awareness of those around them and in all communities.
Presently, Willows Preparatory School provides all subject disciplines under the IB MYP framework, as well as social-emotional support, a full arts program, and a weekly all-school meeting. Small class sizes, ranging from 7-16 students, allow teachers to focus on individual student needs and achievements. Every classroom is fully equipped with state-of-the-art interactive technology used by both the teachers and students. Teachers are also welcome to host clubs/sports, coordinate service-learning experiences, and exercise creativity when planning new ways for students to learn.
Qualifications of a Successful Staff Member:
Successful educators are passionate, creative, great communicators, exhibit a high-level of professionalism and expertise, and most importantly, have a strong ability to adapt to change. As the school of choice in our community, WPS teachers and staff members place student learning above all else. Every educator at our school should aim to make learning relevant, engaging, and fun. As an IB World School, our educators provide a rigorous education for our students with high standards, yet guide all students to find success through ongoing communication and open-mindedness.
